Blog 8: English Language Challenges

Imagen
Hello! This is my last blog, and I'm going to talk about my experience in the English Lenguaje Program of the University. I'm going to be honest. Being in quarantine didn't make it an easy experience. I don't know if being in a classroom could make it different. Otherwise. It was a very fun, because it was different from another subjects that I had in the semester. Also, our teacher was soooo awesome! His classes were greatfull, I learned a lot about speaking and reading. In class I learned a lot of things, not only about English. I learned about racism, homophobya, history. I love all those topics, so I enjoyed the classes a lot. Maybe the class schedule was a negative point, but that's only my opinion, because I'm a very lazy person. I think that I need to improve my speaking, fluency, and my grammar. We can always be better, so, I need to improve. I think that I'm going to do this in our next level english class, and, well, in my case, looking movies in e...

Blog 7: Music

Imagen
Hi everyone! Well, today I'm going to talk about music. Now that I think about it, I don't know if I have a favorite group or singer. I like a lot of groups, spanish, english and french speakers. I love music, so, I can say that many groups can be my favorite. This is really a hard choice.  Well, I think that if I have to choose one, I'm gonna talk about Imagine Dragons. Imagine Dragons is an American pop rock band, consisting of lead singer Dan Raynolds, lead guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben Mackee, and drummer Daniel Platzman. They have four albums, Night Visions (2012), Smoke + Mirrors (2014), Evolve (2016) and Origins (2018). I hear this group since 2013, and from this time I never step away from their music. They acompany me in my best moments, and in the worst too. My favorite song of this group is... well, no, I can't talk about a favorite. I love a lot of them, like Who We Are, Battle Cry, Bad Liar, Bleeding Out, Warriors and the Blank Space / Stand by me cov...

Blog 6: Postgraduate Studies

Imagen
Hello there! Well, here I am again. I think I'm going to talk about something similar to last week: Future postgraduate studies. Talk about this topic it's so difficult when you don't have your future so clearly as me. Last week I talked about maritime archeology, and I think that in this week I'm going to talk about the same topic. On the other hand, I really like Egiptology as another speacility, and why not study both? If I have time, I'll probably going to specialize in both. I love swimming, and also I want to know more about the old civilizations on Egypt, and, who knows, maybe discover Atlantis. I want to do my postgraduate studies out of Chile. Where? I'm not sure, but looking for some universities, I found the University of Groningen, in the Netherlands. They have very solid and interesting programs. Also, is an opportunity to know the country, then, why not? Other option is going to study in Spain. Which university? I don't know. Other reason that ...

Blog 5: My future job

Imagen
Hello everyone! Today, I'm going to talk about the idea that I have of my future job. To be honest, imagining me working isn't easy, because my future prospects aren't so clear. I want to go outside Chile, and work being an archaeologist, specialized in maritime archeology, egyptology or paleontology. About my salary, well, in some moment I thinked about the salary that I want to have, and searching in the internet, I found that in the United States, the archeologist gains on average US$50.200, which translated into our reality would be 4.028.550 chilean pesos per month. In my case, I can't imagine me in a office, writing the entire day about something. I'm going to work in field. Exploring archeologycal sites, going underwater, discovering some places and tools that aren't discover yet. I imagine me traveling worldwide, visiting nations like Egypt, the United States, England, Palestine, places like amazon jungle, the Longmen Grottoes, etcétera, and to be possib...

Blog 4: My favorite animal

Imagen
Hello everyone! I would have liked to talk about my last pet, a dog that I named Beethoven (because he looked like the dog in the film, but smaller), but instead of that, I'll talk about my favourite animal: the wolf. To me, this animal represent intelligence, astuteness, freedom, loyalty, union (and more words). Wolves are cooperative, and if one of their herd falls, all the members of the group are there to help him. They are fast, skilled survivors, and ferals if their provoked. I don't know if they're easily pettable, and if the answer is yes, well, why not? They are so cool, protective, cute, and very loyalty companions. In case of being male, I'll probably call him Hunter, and in the case of a female... Sage. If the answer is that they can't be petted, well... I really love dogs, in fact, I'll receive a dog in a couple of months, and I'm very exci ted, because I didn't have a pet in a very long time. For the Native Americans, white wolves are spec...

Blog 3: My Favorite Series

Imagen
Hello there! Today I'm going to talk you about a TV show that I like to much, but before that, I need to say that I don't have a "favorite" series, because if I have to talk about that, I don't know, I certainly would speak about Dragon Ball or something like that, and I like a lot of series, like: CSI (The entire saga), The Mentalist, Bones, Friends, Dark, The Rain (Netflix FTW), but I'll talk about a series that I love and hate at the same time: House M. D. (Medical Diagonistc) Well, I choose this show because I really like medical series (like The Good Doctor, and Grey's Anatomy), but I opted for this because of its characters. "Everybody lies" This is the base of the series, and House know it very well. Gregory House is the main character, and my favorite one. House is described as heartless and a genius. He is a jerk, but also the best Doctor in Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, and he proves it throughout the series, always accompanie...

Blog 2: The best vacation ever

Imagen
Hey! What's up? In today's blog I'm going to talk you about one of the best (if not the best) vacation that I had in my entire life! In February 2018, I went to Chiloe. Yes, I know. I have never go outside of the country, but it doesn't matter! Because Chile is a really beautiful country, but anyway, I'll continue talking about my vacations. In 2018 I was still a member of a Scout's group, and in our CamVer (Summer Camp) we went to Chiloe during the first half of February. This camp was really exciting in comparison of other. Why? Well, there are so many thing that we done, for example, we do the "Raid": In this activity we travel across the region and learn about it's people. Why this is so special? Because we need to hitch-hike! Or walk, but we normally do the first, and when the night arrives, we need to choose a place to sleep. Yes, very dangerous, but exciting! Well, it was a really good camp, at least until a disaster happened: It was midnigh...
